Description:
HC stands for 'hors categorie' the french expression meaning 'above (or beyond) category.' HC Cycling is synonomous with this concept. The logo ties together the imagery of the mountians so imfamous in competitve cycling. Each major climb throughout the world is categorized, from 4 to HC, based upon their length, vertical gain and percent grade. Climbs that are rated HC or hors categorie are the toughest and most monumental in the world.
